He touched her this morning
Or was it the warm sheets?
His musky scent hovered
Just as she discovered
Her diary open at his entry.
Memories recalled
Are memories relived.
We find relief, we find solace
Make the good ones recur
Push the worst b’low surface.
As she turned the pages
She recalled the depths
The tight togetherness
A shared exclusivity
A fuse-bonded entity.
They were a pair
Born from despair
Having a common ground
They’d stuck around
With an air of ‘we don’t care’.
Till the day they spiralled
Out of control, unravelled
In pieces broken
Shaken, unspoken
Words kill, actions tell.

Living in recall can, and does uplift the soul… but for some… the pain us sometimes more than one can endure…

It simmers just below the surface, with nowhere to go but live there, trapped in a never ending cycle.
Thank you for reading through and pausing to comment, my friend.
